After several years of working as a Systems Accountant in businesses such as Lotus Cars / Engineering, Bernard Matthews PLC and then Finance & Systems Manager at MIRU I decided to turn to freelance IT consulting in January 1995.
The IT Consultant
With a 2.1 degree in Computerised Accountancy in 1982 from the University of East Anglia I have always had a strong passion for computing in business. Three years as a co-director of one of Norfolk's early computer dealers followed by several years working with some of Norfolk's leading companies has given me wide ranging experience in many aspects of business IT.
I am shown centre in the picture above receiving a £45,000 dti SMART award grant on behalf of the Computer Industry Research Unit.
I have wide ranging experience in various industries and applications.
The Report Developer
Skills first acquired developing Crystal reports over a CRM system have become a major part of my consultancy over the past 7 to 8 years developing at organisations such as Healthcare Logistics (SAP R/3), Mace Construction (CODA), Freedom Group (Access Dimensions) and H M Revenue and Customs Prosecution Office (e-Financials).
The Project Manager
My contracting career starting back in January 1995 when I became project manager for adding stock and order processing modules, a network upgrade and a CRM system implementation for Stramit Industires in Suffolk.
Recent projects have included transitions from Access Dimensions / Focalpoint to NetSuite OneWorld at Bidwells LLP and Sage 200 to NetSuite for Esteem Systems
The Excel Developer
Excel is often the best and most desirable format for presenting management information and reports. Through the use of live links to SQL databases I give Excel a 'helping hand' with the development of code behind the scenes in Excel to automate the process. Routines to produce management accounts in minutes are especially popular.
“With the successful completion of several NetSuite projects I am now looking for further NetSuite work in the UK.
